- SQM 10
The Gauley Get-A-Way has six bedrooms, three baths, a hot tub, a wood burning fireplace and ice cold air-conditioning! This cabin is open and comfortable, year round! It can comfortably sleep 13.
The main level has 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and a full bath. The other two bedrooms have king sized beds and share a full bath. The living room and dining room “great room” is on this level as well as a full sized kitchen with a breakfast nook. This opens to a large covered deck/breezeway that has a picnic table big enough for the entire family. The living room has a TV with Dish Network and a DVD player.
The lower level has three bedrooms also. The first as a queen sized bed, the second has a queen sized bed plus a twin bed, and the third has two twin sized beds. There is a shower room and a half bath on this level as well as a laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer.
The rec room is on the lower level and it has a wood burning fireplace, TV, DVD and pool table. It opens to a large deck that houses the hot tub and that leads to a huge yard.
Linens, towels and a generous portion of fire wood are all provided. At night, the dark star-lit sky will enchant you as you relax in your hot tub or roast s'mores over the fire.
The cabin is only two minutes from Summersville Lake, the largest lake in West Virginia. It has over 28,000 acres of water and 60 miles of shoreline. Boating, water-skiing, swimming, scuba diving, picnicking, fishing, and biking are the favorite activities enjoyed by visitors. Technical rock climbing and whitewater rafting are available year-round, with scheduled whitewater releases below the dam on the world class Gauley River in September and October.
The cabin is only 20 minutes from Fayetteville, named one of America’s Coolest Small Town by Budget Travel Magazine and Matador Networks. Fayetteville is known by most as being the home of the New River Gorge Bridge, the longest arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere. This foodie town, with a huge number of outdoor shops and boutiques, will delight everyone who visits.
The cabin’s location is right off the road to the Carnifex Ferry Battleground State Park. The State Park includes a museum and historical information, which appeals to Civil War and history buffs. Couples and families love the miles of hiking trails, picnic facilities, and famed view of the Gauley River from the park. Hiking trails lead to three different waterfalls.
